Our 38 rooms offer you every amenity. They are equipped with a bathroom or shower/toilet, usually with a bidet, a TV, a telephone, a safe, a minibar and a hairdryer and are furnished with natural wooden floors. We also provide you with a comfortable dressing gown and a pair of slippers for your visit to the wellness area.All our rooms are non-smoking rooms.

Overnight stay with breakfast only: reduction of € 25,-/ day of the half board rates.
Dogs an small pets: €18,-/day. Pets are not allowed to enter the dinning-room and wellness area.

On later arrival or earlier departure as booked, 60 % of the confirmed services will be charged.

In case of cancellation of your reservation within 14 days prior to your arrival,  delayed arrival or earlier departure we charge 60% of the confirmed services.

Our room categories

Every one of our 38 rooms is individually furnished and decorated and offers a different view of the castle and the surrounding landscape. The rooms are situated in the prelature, the new wing or on the sunny attic. There are unique historical rooms with frescoes, embrasures or wood-panelled parlours, spacious family suites, rooms with valuable antiques or especially luxurious bathrooms, rooms with balconies, roof terraces or with their own gardens, and new rooms in the attic with a purist, monastic touch decorated with precious natural materials.

“Romantic” Double Rooms (approx. 25m²-30m²Kategorie C)
Our romantic double rooms are furnished with floors made of local larch wood and provide bathrooms with Italian tiles or tiles made of silver quartzite, a unique stone material from Südtirol. With their warm colours, these rooms offer an alpine feel-good atmosphere without any kitsch.

"Classic" Double Room (approx. 27m²-37m²)
Our classical rooms treat our guests to a special homeliness. With the larch-wood floors with broad floorboards, the historical rooms with stucco decors or the rooms in the new wing which have been furnished with attention to detail, the feeling of living in a castle is present all around.

“Superior” Double Rooms (approx. 33m²-43m²Kategorie A)
Our superior double rooms provide much room for our guests to unfold and relax. Every one of them has a special something. They offer you a view of the beautifully sunset-lit Rieserferner mountains or a special, warm atmosphere created by a wooden beam ceiling. It is the way in which a homely, tasteful atmosphere and a pleasant spaciousness are combined in these rooms that makes them favourites with many of our guests. Experience it for yourself.

“Luxus” Double Rooms / Suites (approx. 40m² - 60m²)
Unique, exclusive and spacious: the prince’s room with its baroque ceiling fresco, the bridal suite, the wood-panelled “Abbess’ Room” (Stube der Äbtissin) from 1735, the rose garden room, the spacious new family suites furnished with precious local materials, the historical suites or the tower chamber with its own roof terrace – grand style holidays at the Sonnenburg.

Luxurious tower suite on two floors with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large living room with a view over the valley, a tea kitchen and a hall/dining room. (suitable for up to six people)

“Comfort” Single Rooms (approx. 25m² - 30m²)
Comfortable single rooms with larch-wood floors.
